I get e-mail: dishonest, e-begging e-mail
One of the main reasons I started my own blog was to make fun of Eugene Delgaudio, president of Public Advocate of the U.S., an organization that seems to exist only to beg for ten dollars to help them fight the ravening gay scourge. I apparently ended up on their mailing list when voting in a poll once and have stayed subscribed for the unintentional hilarity. I have reproduced the latest e-mail in its entirety below with my comments.
Times are more desperate than ever.
The Radical Homosexual Lobby has forced homosexual “marriage” upon two more states.
In just the past few weeks, both Washington State and Maryland have acted to mandate homosexual “marriage.”
These are particularly bitter losses to me.
Public Advocate has fought time and again to save real marriage in Maryland.
I am incredibly proud of our victories there.
Just last year you and I fought the Homosexual Lobby to a standstill in Maryland’s House and forced the legislators to reject homosexual “marriage.”
And only days before the Washington state senate cast their vote, Public Advocates supporters launched a blistering phone campaign demanding a halt to this legislation.
Regretfully, they did not listen.
Legislators in both states willfully ignored the wishes of the constituents — and the cries from pro-Family Americans across the nation — in order to appease a radical minority and their bloated bank accounts.
You see, this is their grand strategy.
Homosexual “marriage” by legislative decree.
The Radical Homosexual Lobby knows that they will never win the support of mainstream America.
But, they can buy off a few politicians in each state.
This is exactly how homosexual “marriage” was passed in New York last summer — backroom deals and homosexual slush funds.
I’m afraid to say it, but this strategy is the most dangerousone I have ever seen them try.
They have succeeded in three states in less than a year, and they nearly succeeded in a fourth state just last month.
If not for Gov. Chris Christie’s veto, New Jersey would be joining Washington and Maryland.
But now, you and I have our work cut out for us.
You see, there is good news… even in the face of such disaster.
In both Maryland and Washington State, pro-Family citizens are rallying to overturn this usurpation of their wishes.
Public Advocate is organizing on the ground in both states right now — but I need your help.
To overturn homosexual “marriage,” pro-Family advocates will have to get the bills placed on the November ballot — and in order to do that they will need to gather tens of thousands of signatures in Maryland; Washington State will require almost 300,000 signatures!
But if we can accomplish that, then we will take back these states.
Pro-Family Americans have proven every time: When the people are given the chance to vote, they always support real marriage!
Daniel, I need you to prepare yourself for the fight ahead.
It is not going to be cheap to spread the word about these pro-Family petitions.
That’s why I need you to consider making a special donation right now to help get our program off the ground.
Chipping in only $20 will allow Public Advocate to reach up to a thousand people or more with online alerts.
So please, pray about it carefully and give what you can right now.
Whatever you can give will be put to the greatest use!
For the Family,
President, Public Advocate
P.S. P.S. Washington State and Maryland just passed homosexual “marriage” by legislative decree.
Pro-Family activists are rallying to overturn these, but desperately need Public Advocate’s support in organizing their signature drives.
However, I cannot launch any new efforts until additional funding comes in.
Because Public Advocate of the U.S. is a non-profit, charitable organization that fights the radical agenda of the Homosexual Lobby, contributions are not tax deductible for IRS purposes. This email was not produced or e-mailed at taxpayer expense. Public Advocate’s phone number is (703) 845-1808, its address is 5613 Leesburg Pike, Suite 17 Falls Church, VA 22041, and its website is http://publicadvocateusa.org/p://publicadvocateusa.org/.
I considered just running the e-mail as is, since it’s pretty funny without me saying anything, but I think it’s worth pointing out a few things. It’s unclear what Delgaudio actually does with this money he’s always begging for. The only action he takes any credit for is a bunch of people calling their representatives. All that took was an e-mail like this. How much does it cost for one guy to mass e-mail a couple alarmist screeds a week, especially if you don’t bother with spell check? After a couple years complaining that the Radical Homosexual Lobby was subverting the democratic process by using the courts to force their agenda on our children, it turns out he’s not very happy about standard legislative procedures, either. I’m curious as to what he’ll do when these ballot initiatives fail. I’m guessing he’ll say the homosexual media brainwashed everyone.
Note the undercurrent, very common to these e-mails of a well-heeled group of gay radicals having carte blanche to set public policy will traditional Christian groups struggle to make ends meet. Last year, I got a series of e-mails begging for money because they would see he was vulnerable if his finances came up short. This is far from the most ludicrous e-mail I’ve seen for him. I know a lot of people oppose the term “homophobia” because they aren’t scared of gays, just think they are gross or disapprove. This guy seems frightened out of his wits that oily, muscly gay men could be hiding in his closet and waiting to ambush him.
